5 Treatments for Freckle Removal

facial freckles removal result

Many people are born with freckles and others find that they appear after they have spent some time in the sun. Very often it tends to be people with red hair and fair skin who have freckles throughout their lives while anyone can get them through being in the sun. Freckles are spots of concentrated melanin that some people find attractive and yet others are desperate to remove them. Very few small children have them but as they approach puberty they begin to appear.

Once the decision has been made to remove the freckles the next decision that needs to be taken is the method. There are 5 main ways that they can be removed and this ranges from home remedies to surgical procedures.

Treatment for Freckle Removal
Freckle removal cream – this is a method that people try but it is not an effective form of freckle removal. The whole area around the freckle is lightened so there would just be a light patch of skin rather than the darker one that they wanted to remove.

Laser Treatment – this is the most effective form of freckle removal and there will also be the suggestion that tests are carried out on them to make sure that they are not cancerous. Once the freckles have been passed as safe for removal a ruby laser will be used to remove them. In this type of freckle removal a green light is shone on to the freckle and the pigment breaks down. This is a painless procedure as the only sensation will be a warm feeling as the laser touches the skin. For a few days afterwards the skin may feel a little bit crusty but that will not last.

Treatment with intense pulsed light – this is a system very similar to laser removal but it is better able to target the heat to very small areas. There can also be a little pain during this form of freckle removal as the light is aimed at the area below the skin. This can be combated to a point with the use of cooling agents. This is not a quick procedure as each treatment will last about 20 minutes and there will need to be a number of sessions over a 4-6 week period.

Chemical Peel – it is usually light skinned and fair haired people who are best suited to having their freckles removed with a chemical peel. The chemicals are placed onto small areas of the skin and a wound appears. As this heals new skin has covered the freckle that needed to be removed. It can be carried out in either a doctor’s surgery or clinic.

Home Remedies
Soak of vinegar and onions – this can be carried out at home and is cheap and easy. Grate the onion and drain off some juice. Mix it with a small amount of vinegar. Use cotton wool to dab it on the freckles and over time they will fade. This may take a little longer than the other methods but is a good way to remove freckles.

Hunter: I am sorry to hear that you feel this way. I know the harsh, unkind words of other can really hurt. But, know there are several safe ways to get rid of freckles – this suggestion is just one. Do not be like those bullies… Treat yourself with the kindness you deserve.

why has it become a “serious concern”.. that’s weird
laser treatment works. are u a kid? cuz I dont think many adults get picked on and bullied for freckles. I realize you may be kidding about “taking your life”, so if you are it’s kinda messed up. If your not, please seek help about the bully issue. Noone deserves to be disrespected. Besides.. freckles fade as you get older. By the time your an adult they will be way lighter.

That is not true AJ, I am 27 years old and have more freckles now than I did as a kid. No one ever picked on me for the freckles, they always told me it made me look cuter. If someone is being picked on for having freckles, they should remember it adds character. And honestly, they’re a great camaflouge for teens who have acne. Helps to hide your blemishes. Think of the positives of having freckles. I only checked out how to remove them because they seem to have multiplied as I get older. I don’t mind having them, they are a part of who I am and definitely show off the Irish side of me, but I am concerned with the health of my skin because there is a history of skin cancer in my family.
